Helium Presents: Rosebud Baker
Rosebud Baker is a New York-based comedian, actress, and writer. In 2018, she was selected as New Face of Comedy at Montreal's prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival 2018. Her intensely personal, dry, remorselessly dark brand of humor stood out to viewers in the Amazon Video docu-series, "Inside Jokes," which documented her journey to becoming a New Face of Comedy.
"The Village Voice" named Rosebud as The Very Best of Just For Laughs New Faces Showcase, stating ''Baker’s no-nonsense, wickedly dirty routine cut through the evening like barbed wire."
Rosebud has written for Comedy Central's "The Roast of Alec Baldwin" and appeared on "Comedy Central Stand-up," Bill Burr's "The Ringers," as well as multiple appearances on "This Week At The Comedy Cellar." She's toured with some of the biggest names in comedy, including Michael Che and Amy Schumer, and performed at comedy festivals like Comedy Central's Clusterfest, JFL 42, Vodaphone Comedy Festival, and SxSW.
And in a never-before-seen trailblazing move, Rosebud hosts a weekly podcast, "Devil's Advocate w/ Rosebud Baker," through All Things Comedy and available on iTunes and Spotify.

Buy TicketsHelium Presents: Akaash Singh
The first time Akaash Singh performed in front of his friends in high school, he bombed. Of course, it’s a little more disheartening when the laughs don’t come while you happen to be on the mic at The Comedy Store in L.A.
You know, The Comedy Store, stomping grounds of Pryor, Seinfeld, Leno and… Singh? Akaash bombed there so badly that it was, well, almost funny. Before that night, he hopped on stage once every few months and called himself a comedian. After that night, he developed a singular focus on scrapping for as much stage time as possible while writing incessantly.
He went on a national tour in 2010 — from D.C. back to Cali, making certain to stop in his home state along the way with a performance at “The Festival of India” at The University of Texas.
He earned his first television appearance in 2011. He was one of a small handful of comedians selected to be a panelist on MTV’s “New Year’s Bash 2011,” making light of the celebrity news we all take too seriously. Then he piloted for a series with MTV Desi, which was approved for a full season. In 2013, He was chosen as a cast member on MTV2’s “Wild N Out.” In 2014, it was HBO’s “The Leftovers,” as well as MTV2’s "Guy Code." And more recently, he has just finished filming for the second season of MTV2’s “Joking Off.”

Special Event: Russell Peters
Only a handful of today’s artists can claim their success began with YouTube. Even less, if any, have been named alongside such luminaries as Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and Eddie Murphy in "Rolling Stone’s" recently released list of the 50 Best Comics of All Time. In comedian Russell Peters’ case, “success” may be a drastic understatement.
Russell Peters started doing stand up at the age of 19 at open mics in his native Toronto in 1989. He spent the next 15 years honing his craft at clubs across Canada and the UK. In 2004, Peters gained critical and global recognition for his CTV “Comedy Now!” special, which wound up on YouTube. That upload launched a new level of fame and unforeseen success. It also led to larger and larger shows, not only in arenas in his native Canada, where he became the first comedian to sell-out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre in 2007 (as of today, six times and over 100,000 people), but to arenas in the United States, the UK, Australia, South Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Asia.
